Week #50 Year 2009 Ben Millionaire Experience

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

Week 50 Year 2009 is a very challenging week. I’ve been very busy at work. Our tasks’ deadline was on December 18, 2009. Unfortunately, our deadline was not met because there were additional modules that we need to work on. We are doing our very best to finish the tasks by December 23, 2009. I always try to work at least 9 hours in a day to finish my tasks. I do this because I want to deliver high quality of service. I don’t care if they will pay me for over-time or not. What I really care is to give my best to deliver the service the company expects from me.

This week, my social life is happy. I made my friend happy for I was able to help him in his thesis. I helped him in Java programming. We tested the Sockect class in Java. It’s about writing codes that transfer files/data through the network. I’m very happy if I made other people happy.

TGIF Week 50 Year 2009

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

Last Friday, we had a free breakfast. Our project regularly treats us free breakfast. It’s very nice to be in our project for you don’t need to eat breakfast at home. You can eat free breakfast at the office instead.

In the afternoon, we (my team) had a meeting with our manager about our development tasks. It’s a good meeting because we were asked about the updates of our task. It means that our manager cares about us and our respective tasks. I am looking forward to a weekly meeting with our manager especially when we have big development tasks.

After the meeting, I felt comfortable for I know that we had very definite direction in our tasks. I learned that it’s not enough to assign the task to a resource. It’s not enough that the resource will say that he/she is okay with the tasks. The most important thing to do is to give even at least 30 minutes to meet him/her so you would know the full details of the tasks the resource is working on. On that meeting, you would be able to know how the resource will respond on every module you assigned to him/her. Base on his/her responses, you would be able to know if the resource can meet the deadline.
