From April 05, 2010 to April to April 08, 2010, I worked hard in the office. Even though I was busy for the four consecutive days of work, I’m still happy for everyday I learn something new that enhances my skills in Java, Oracle, UNIX and Linux. I’m really productive whenever I feel good and happy. There are many challenges to face at work so I need to be strong and intelligent by always reading and enhancing my skills in programming.
On the night of April 08, 2010 at around 9:00PM, I met my mastermind group. I’m very happy because there’s one member added to my mastermind group. All of the members of my mastermind group are working closely and harmoniously to reach our definite goal. I assigned them tasks with definite ETC (Estimated Time to Complete).
I believe that I can be one of the greatest leaders on Earth. I’ll recognize my follower/s when they did something nice. I’ll never take the honor when they performed well. I’ll give the honor to my follower/s who really delivered high quality of service. I’ll show them that I’m courageous and I have the mastery of the details about what we do and what I ask them to do. I’ll also show them that I care for them. I’ll have sympathy for my followers. If my followers failed to do their task, I’ll consider that I am the one who failed. I’ll never blame any of my followers if something went wrong. I think the qualities I mentioned above are the great qualities of the best leader.
I have experienced using CVS in UNIX and Linux box. I used Linux to check out all our files from the repository. In order to check out all files from the repository, you need to login using cvs login command. To checkout the files from the repository, you need to use the cvs checkout command. To learn more about the commands, use cvs –help-commands. To know about the available options for a specific command like checkout, use cvs -H checkout.
I tried to modify one java file from the repository, then I checked the status of that java file. I used the command cvs status OneFile.java. cvs status command returned the version of OneFile.java and its status. Since I modified OneFile.java, its status was “Locally modified”.
I checked-in the OneFile.java by using cvs commit -m “Reason for checkin” OneFile.java. After checking it in, I check the status using cvs status OneFile.java. cvs status returned the new version of OneFile.java and its new status is “up-to-date”.
That’s what I’ve learned in the office for this week. Now I know how to use CVS in UNIX and Linux.
Last Monday, January 18, 2010, I went to office again. I went back to work after a happy weekend. I worked for nine hours. I started to visit National Bookstore on this day. I read the “Science of Getting Rich” book by Wallace Wattles. I love to read the books about getting rich because I want to be a millionaire. It’s my dream to have a very nice house and a very nice car. I want to be an investor. My dream is to work if I want. Working is optional. I want to earn money even if I sleep.
Last Tuesday, I attended the UNIX brownbag conducted in our company. It’s conducted by Marc Rafanan. Though it’s very familiar to me, I still attended the brownbag. There were topics covered which I was not familiar with. In the afternoon, Clarisse Capisonda and I bought two big pizza at Niro. It’s our treat for our coworkers because we celebrated
our birthday last December 26, 2009. Last Tuesday is an extended celebration of our birthday. Both Clarisse and I were born in December 26. She’s born in 1984 while I was born in 1985.
Last Saturday, Miraflor and I went to the wedding of my cousin Regie Caldito. I gave a gift to my cousin. Regie is a nice friend and cousin. He helped me when I needed to go to UST (University of Sto. Tomas). He was my guide when I went to UST in 2004. I was not familiar to the places in Metro Manila in 2004 since I lived in the province. Thanks for him for he guided me for two weeks. I can’t forget his help. I’m very thankful for I have cousin like him who is very eager to help me.
